What Colors to Wear This Fall?
Fall is literally right around the corner even though it’s still in the 90s in southern Indiana. I can’t wait to start layering and wearing fall colors. Although I subscribe to the notion of “Wear whatever colors you love all year”, I like to keep tabs on what colors are popular each season. Each season, Pantone publishes their top ten colors. These colors set the tone for fashion and begin to pop up on the runways and in magazines. As a clothing retailer, I like to educate my customers on the fall color trends and how to incorporate them into your wardrobe. For this fall the top ten colors are Red Pear, Valiant Poppy, Nebulas Blue, Ceylon Yellow, Martini Olive, Russet Orange, Ultraviolet (also the 2018 Color of the Year), Crocus Petal, Limelight, and Quetzal Green. I love these Pantone Fall Colors and can’t wait to start seeing more of them in my boxes!
How to Wear the Pantone Fall Colors
LuLaRoe does a great job incorporating these colors into their fall/winter prints. My boxes the last several weeks have all had pieces with these colors. Several of the fall colors are your classic fall tones like Russet Orange (a bright orange) and Red Pear (a deep red). There are some unexpected colors like Limelight and Crocus Petal that can bring a different twist to your outfit. Martini Olive is THE neutral tone for fall. Meghan Markle wore this color at Prince Louis’ royal christening. You know if Meghan is wearing this color, it’s one to for sure include in your wardrobe. A great way to add these colors to your fall wardrobe is to pick one or two as base colors in your outfit. Another trend that you can pull these fall colors into is a monochromatic look. I love a monochromatic look because it’s simple yet classy. Red Pear or Nebulas Blue are two colors that would make a lovely monochromatic look. Now if these colors are your jam to include in an entire outfit, one way to utilize them is in your accessories. Jewelry and shoes are always an important component to any outfit. Little pops of Ultraviolet or Quetzal Green will keep you on trend this fall. The Pantone colors will be popping up everywhere so keep an eye out for them and get creative with your fall looks!
