LuLaRoe DeAnne II

August 14, 2018 By Rebecca balich Leave a Comment

The LuLaRoe DeAnne II

Classic silhouette, elegant details, and an affordable price.  That sums up the LuLaRoe DeAnne II dress in my opinion.  This dress has exquisite details and is such a showstopper.  I have been impressed with each one that has shown up in my boxes since the dress launched.  Here’s a breakdown of the DeAnne II and keep reading for sizing and styling tips!

The LuLaRoe DeAnne II is a layering dress that can elevate any outfit.  This dress is sheer and features gorgeous embroidery.  Some of the dresses have over a million embroidery stitches.  Each dress is embroidered and not printed.  The DeAnne II has a high neckline and tucks in at the waist slightly.  I love how the tucked waist accentuates your curves.  Another amazing feature of the DeAnne II is the scalloped hemline and sleeves.  This adds to the feminine and romantic appearance of the dress.

Sizing

The DeAnne II is going to be an amazing addition to your closet.  This is the perfect dress to wear to a bridal shower, a rehearsal dinner, or even to take along to wear at a cruise elegant night.  The DeAnne II fits very similar to the Amelia dress.  Since it it made of a netting type fabric and embroidery it has zero stretch.  The tucked waist is made of elastic and that’s of course a nice touch.  One recommendation I have is to go up a size if you are busty.  I tried on a large and it fit perfectly over my Dani dress. For reference I wear a medium or large Amelia depending on the material.  I did have a moment of panic trying to get the dress off though.  It’s for sure not a dress you can just whip off at the end of the night.  Who wants to snag the netting????  Definitely not me!  Since this is a maxi length dress you may find that it needs to be hemmed.  Even with heels it was long and I’m 5’5″.  I beg you to please take your DeAnne II to an experienced seamstress for any hemming that needs done.  This dress needs to be hemmed at the WAIST so you don’t lose the scalloped hem.  Same thing goes for the sleeves.  This dress is too gorgeous to ruin!

Styling

Let’s talk about styling the DeAnne II.  This dress can go over almost anything!  It looks amazing over the Dani, an Amelia, a Julia, or even jeans.  You can totally do some pattern mixing or stick to solids under this dress.  If you want to accentuate your waist a bit more, throw on a skinny belt in a complimentary color.  Many of the DeAnne II’s have multiple colors so you can make the dress look different each time you wear it.  I love accessorizing and finding the perfect statement necklace and earrings to go with my outfits.  The DeAnne II will look great with just an amazing pair of earrings and some bracelets.  The embroidery is so gorgeous you don’t want to take away from it.

LuLaRoe DeAnne II

The LuLaRoe DeAnne II is a special limited edition style (like even more limited than most styles).  If you want to see this amazing dress or any of the other new styles I’d love to have you join my shopping group!!!

The LuLaRoe Georgia Dress

August 4, 2018 By Rebecca balich Leave a Comment

The LuLaRoe Georgia Dress finally launched last week at convention!  This dress was first announced last fall at Leadership and has been highly anticipated! Keep reading for a full breakdown of the Georgia dress!

The LuLaRoe Georgia Dress

This dress is a super cute addition to the LuLaRoe line up and will quickly become your favorite fall dress. This dress is a mash-up of two LuLaRoe favorites! The Georgia features a scoop neck and long sleeves similar to the Lynnae top. The best part of this dress is the three tiered skirt that is akin to the Nicole skirt.  During convention Patrick said that the Georgia takes much longer to make because of the added tiers to the skirt.  I was lucky enough to wear a Georgia during the Vision photo shoot!  This dress was so comfortable and flattering.  The Georgia I wore was made of a crepe like fabric and had a good amount of stretch.  I’m pretty sure I wore a large but everything was a blur by that time. I had a Lynnae layered over and knotted at the front.  The Georgia will be an amazing dress to layer with other styles like a Classic T, Sarah, or Joy once it starts to cool off.  What I love the most about the tiered skirt is that it lays flat and doesn’t poof out.  Score one for LuLaRoe and making this dress hug your curves the right way!  This dress looks amazing on every body type!  LuLaRoe Georgia Dress

The Georgia Dress Fit and Price

The Georgia dress comes in sizes XXS-3XL and fits true to size.  Depending on the material you may need to size up one but that’s true for almost every LuLaRoe style.  The Georgia will come in many prints and patterns including Noir & Blanc! I can’t wait to see the multicolored tiers and the amazing pattern mixing.  The Georgia dress is priced at $65 and such a steal for a dress that will get you through fall and winter.

LuLaRoe Dani Dress

July 24, 2018 By Rebecca balich 3 Comments

Today after months of waiting (seriously since April leadership) the LuLaRoe Dani dress is launching!!!!!!!!  This dress is groundbreaking for LuLaRoe and will introduce many new people to the brand.  I have been waiting for this dress and I’m so excited to add it to my boutique!!!

LuLaRoe Dani Dress

The Dani

The Dani is LuLaRoe’s first tank style dress.  It’s going to be your go-to dress for the rest of the summer (it’s “summer” until October here in Indiana) and can take you into fall.  The Dani is a sleeveless, floor-length column dress similar to the LuLaRoe Maria.  It features a slight racer back (bonus you don’t need a strapless or special bra!) and the straps are similar to the Tank Top’s.  This dress can stand alone on a hot day.  Throw on a fun belt to accentuate your waist and some sandals for a perfect casual look.  A funky pair of Chuck Taylor’s would also create a casual look.  I plan to wear the Dani when we head to Disney in the fall.  Speaking of fall, the LuLaRoe Dani will be a great layering piece once the weather cools off.  The Shirley, Lindsay, and Sarah will all be great pieces to pair with the Dani and express your individual style.  I can also see the Lynnae being a great piece to wear under the Dani a la the 90s maxi dress look.

LuLaRoe Dani

I’m DYING over the animal print!

Fit, Fabric, and Pricing

The LuLaRoe Dani comes in sizes XS-3XL.  Word on the street from April leadership is that the Dani will fit much like the LuLaRoe Maria.  I typically wear a medium Maria so I plan to wear the medium in the Dani also.  I might even size up to a large or extra large depending on the print and blouse the bodice out with a belt.  The LuLaRoe Dani will come in three different fabrics for this initial launch.  They are MVS (a polyester/spandex blend), non-brushed DTY, and another polyester/spandex blend.  MVS is the most common fabric used in LuLaRoe so you more than likely have some pieces in this fabrication.  The non-brushed DTY is a slinky fabric.  I have a couple Marias in this fabric and I love the way they hug my curves!  The LuLaRoe Dani is priced at $55 which is a great price for a maxi style dress.  It’s affordable and you can still have some money in your budget for a Shirley or Lindsay.

My LuLaRoe Photo Shoot-It Wasn’t Just Luck

July 23, 2018 By Rebecca balich Leave a Comment

Some of you may be wondering “Well what did she do to get in a photo shoot?”.  If you read my photo shoot story, then you may be asking yourself this exact question.  You may be thinking that it was just luck.  I’m here to tell you that my LuLaRoe photo shoot wasn’t just luck.  It was a lot of work.

My Strategy Leading up to the Shoot

Instagram

After that chance meeting with Amelia in the bathroom at the Celebrate 5 party (that was the ONLY lucky part) I worked my tail off.  It wasn’t just sitting around and hoping that I would eventually get in a shoot.  I looked at what I was doing on my social media channels and what I needed to work on.  LuLaRoe pays attention to your social media accounts especially Instagram.  Instagram became my focus from the time I met Amelia to the day I got the email to be in a photo shoot. My Instagram game needed some serious work.  I didn’t have an Instagram strategy.  My posts weren’t consistent and my account didn’t have a clear concept.  I started first by posting daily.  And not just one random photo each day.  I posted twice a day and made sure that the photos had some intention behind them.  I also worked on my hashtags.  In each post I made sure to use all 30 hashtags and a variety of hashtags (generic, specific, and custom).  If you want to know more about analyzing your hashtags there are some great resources in Suite SassyPants!  Another strategy I used was tagging the appropriate people on my Instagram posts.  I would tag people like Amelia, Deanne, the LuLaRoe account, and Kelsey (lead stylist).  This ensured that I was on the right people’s radar.

Instagram Before

Instagram before meeting Amelia

Styling

Styling feeds right into your overall look.  When you hear DeAnne say “Get up, get dressed, put make-up” DO IT! I started paying more attention to my daily look.  What pieces was I wearing? How was I pattern mixing or pairing styles together?  I also worked on finding the right accessories for each outfit.  I’ve never been one to accessorize with jewelry aside from my standard pair of post earrings.  The great thing about accessories is there are an investment.  I buy pieces that can work with multiple items that I have in my closet.  Plus the right accessories can add that finishing touch to your look.  As a LuLaRoe consultant you are a walking billboard for your business.  Take time each morning to pull together an outfit that you love, find the right shoes and accessories, and put on some make-up if that’s your jam.  I can honestly say that when I do those three things I feel way more confident and that shows when I’m taking photos to post.  A good tip is to follow along with the weekly LuLaRoe style feature.  Create outfits using those styles and make sure you utilize those Instagram strategies.

Putting it all Together

When the photo shoot was over I had to step back and reflect on all I had done leading up to the shoot.  It was a lot of work.  “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.”  This quote from Colin Powell perfectly sums up everything it took to get in a photo shoot. Hard work behind the scenes, sweat to get the perfect photo for Instagram, and all the determination to make my dream come true.

Modeling for LuLaRoe

July 14, 2018 By Rebecca balich 1 Comment

Do you believe in Big Magic?? I completely do after I had to opportunity model for a LuLaRoe photo shoot. Modeling for LuLaRoe was something I never thought would happen.

How I got this Opportunity

At the beginning of May my LuLaBestie, Lizann and I travelled to a LuLaRoe Success Live training in California.  As luck would have it the Celebrate 5 Birthday party was happening the night before our training started.  We arrived in California, hit up Joia (THE best accessory store), and got all decked out in our best Elegant Collection.  The birthday party was a lot of fun.  We got a sneak peak at the American Dreams Collection, met Mark and DeAnne, met Patrick Winget (head designer for LuLaRoe), and socialize with other retailers.  During the party another friend and I went to the restroom and THE Amelia was in it.  My friend and Amelia chatted for a few minutes about a photo shoot she had been in.  Then Amelia looked at me and said “You should be in a photo shoot! Message me at this email.” Then she ran off to do something for the party.  I didn’t catch the email but made it a point to contact her through social media that night. Amelia is the photographer for all the LuLaRoe shoots.

Celebrate 5 Party

Big Magic Happens

Almost a month later Lizann and I were off to Arizona for SassyCon, a two day convention held by our business coach.  On the second day of the convention one of the speakers talked about putting your dreams out into the universe.  I had kept the conversation with Amelia in the back of my mind since the LuLaRoe birthday party.  Lizann looked at me and said “You need to write it down.”  I had been carrying around a list of life dreams for a couple months and pulled it out to add “Be in a LuLaRoe photo shoot” to it.  SassyCon ended and I headed to the airport with a few other friends.  As we all waited for our flights, I checked my email and had received one from someone at home office.  The email said that they wanted me to fill out a form to be put on the potential models list! I filled it out right then and travelled home.  The next day I was at a movie and happened to check my email (before the movie started, I’m not on of those people).  I had another email from home office saying they wanted me to come out the following week for a photo shoot!

Shout your goals to the universe!

The Photo Shoot

The following week, I flew to California to be in an actual LuLaRoe photo shoot.  I couldn’t believe that in less than a week and a half my dream was actually happening.  There were six other models and when we arrived at the set for the first day we were finally told what the shoot was for.  We had been kept in the dark until that point.  It was the photo shoot for VISION! Vision is the annual LuLaRoe convention.  I almost started crying (I didn’t because I was already getting makeup done) because it was such a big and amazing shoot to be part of.  The theme for the shoot was “Color and Light”.  We all wore different monochromatic looks (one all yellow, one all teal, one all blue, you get the picture).  Each outfit was amazing and have your makeup and hair done professional is incredible.  Seriously my hair and makeup never look that good.  The first set was at a super fun location.  The ceiling was made of LED lights that could change colors.  They also used some standing LED lights that changed colors.  The very last set up of the day was a rainbow theme.  We each wore different colors and some of us had to stand on these enormous cubes.  I literally had two inches between the top of my head and the ceiling.  The second day of the shoot was just as fun if not more.  We shot at a different location and continued with the various colors that weren’t done the day before.  My absolute favorite look was the all black one.  I wore a black velvet Elegant Jill over a Noir Amelia with the LuLaRoe Supply moto jacket.

Modeling for LuLaRoe Take Aways

Modeling for LuLaRoe was amazing and once in a lifetime opportunity!  Not only was it an incredible experience but I learned so much in just those two days.  The styling team was phenomenal to work with (Kelsey the lead stylist is so talented).  Watching the styling team work helped me learn new ways to style pieces and I’ve been pushing myself to try new things in my daily outfits (go check my Instagram to see them!).  Amelia is an unbelievably talented photographed. The most important lesson I learned from her is to be confident in yourself.  That confidence shows in the photos.  Photos with fake confidence look that exact way.  Stand with your shoulders back and stand tall.  Modeling is also hard work! My feet hurt at the end of each day and I was exhausted.  My biggest take away is to always put your dreams out into the universe.  You never know when they will come true.

The 72 Hour Game Plan

July 14, 2018 By Rebecca balich Leave a Comment

If you’re a new LuLaRoe retailer (or even a veteran one), the 72 Hour Game Plan is essential to your business. It’s the best way to jumpstart your new business or ramp up your current one.  If you’re already a retailer and have been to a LuLaRoe training event, you know this topic comes up at least once. I have completed the 72 hour game plan a few times and I can say that it has helped my business.  I’ve been able to book an entire month worth of hostesses in those 72 hours.

What is the 72 Hour Game Plan?

LuLaRoe has outlined the 72 Hour Game Plan in five easy steps.

  1. Commit to “Treat Your Business like a Business”
  2. Write a list of 50 names
  3. Book your first 3 Pop-Up Boutiques
    (1st within 5 days)
  4. Promote your boutiques through calls, texts,
conversations, Facebook, Instagram, Evites & flyers
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 yourself & with your team

The 72 Hour Game Plan can be done as often as you want to complete it.  The hardest part is picking up the phone and contacting all those people about hosting a party.  If you are having a hard time writing down 50 names, use the acronym FRANKS.  Friends, Relatives, Associates, Neighbors, Kids’ contacts, and Spouse contacts.  These are the people that you can usually always contact when working through the 72 Hour Game Plan.  When I sit down and get ready to message or call possible hostesses, I always start with making a connection.  Ask those ladies (especially the ones you don’t know very well) how they are or how their kids are.  The second hardest part is getting those potential hostesses to commit to a date.  I have found that asking them in a “yes or yes” phrasing gets them to commit to a date.  “Yes or Yes” means offering hostesses two dates for pop-ups instead of asking “Would you like to host a party?”.  Even with using this approach “no” is always going to be a response for some people.  When this happens I just remind myself that no just means not right now.

Do you need help with the 72 Hour Game plan or someone to hold you accountable?  I’m here to help! Feel free to contact me!!
